Michael Harkin is a registered plumber and VET educator at Melbourne Polytechnic. He began his career as an apprentice plumber and spent 23 years running a successful plumbing business in Ireland before returning to Victoria to continue his trade. Toward the end of COVID, Michael embraced the opportunity to join Melbourne Polytechnic as a Teacher Under Supervision, successfully completing the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

A passionate educator committed to lifelong learning, Michael continually refines his practice to better support student success. Proud to be a dual professional, Michael brings the same dedication and pursuit of excellence to teaching as he has always brought to his trade.

Currently completing the Associate Degree of Vocational Education and Training at Federation University, Michael is focused on building a meaningful and impactful future in vocational education.
